I'm making homemade pizza tonight! We have another granddaughter with us for a few days! We spent the afternoon with Auntie Erika in Siren. Shopping, eating and playing at the playground/lake! Olivia didn't have her suit with, so Mimi says"Oh just go in with your clothes on and we will deal with it later." Spoken like a grandma!!!! I had a jacket in the truck and Grandpa's jacket was in the truck, so I wrapped her in my jacket and sat her on Grandpa's to come home so her car seat didn't get too wet! We had fun!

I was checking out my favorite sites and came across a wonderful recipe from thepioneerwoman.com! Check it out, breakfast muffins that tastes like donuts, I'm in Heaven!!!! I will make them maybe tomorrow and post some pics! Today is our last day with Shealyn! We have gone bowling, Grandpa and her went fishing, she and I went painting at the Potter's Shed! It's been busy. I had a friend tell me it's too much, just do things outside around the house - BORING!!!!!! We want to have fun with the kids, we do things outside around the house, but also other things! We only get this one chance to be part of their lives and we intend to make the most of the short time we have with them! Well, that's all from here! If you would happen to come for a visit, we will do the most we can with you in the short time we have with you also! LOL!!! Blessings!

Yesterday we went to the cities to celebrate the twins' birthday, the girls turned 7!!! We had a great time with everyone! We got them each an outfit for their American girl dolls, an outfit for them to wear for the rest of summer or back to school, and a coloring book called "Rosie Flo's coloring book" It such a cool book for kids! Check it out at Amazon! So, I haven't done any cooking for a few days. We brought Shealyn(the 10 yr old) back with us for a few days! We went bowling today, I haven't bowled in 20 yrs and had fun! Tomorrow we are thinking about going to the "Potter's Shed" for a day of mosaic and eating! Wish us luck! Blessings!

I saw this recipe on thepioneerwoman.com on Monday and I just had to make it!! Gordon ate 2 tonight, I could only manage 1! They are superb!! Would I make them again?? You bet!! Recipe for 12 burritos: 2 pounds of ground chuck(I used venison)browned, 1/2 onion chopped and cooked with beef, add 1 can(7oz) of Enchilada sauce to the meat/onions, 1 can of refried beans(I used Texas grillin beans by Bush), grated cheese and 12 burrito flour tortillas, more sauce for drizzling, and lettuce(recipe calls for cilantro leaves which I didn't have on hand). Brown the beef and onion together, add sauce. Heat beans and cheese together! Put flour tortilla on a plate, add beans and meat, roll up and sprinkle more cheese on top and microwave for 50 seconds. Use more sauce or salsa on top. Serve! YUM!!!!! Blessings!

In our area we have had a 5 yr drought! It's so hard for the few dairy farmers left in our area to get crops in, such as corn and hay bales made! Today has been a strange day, looked like rain and nothing, but the sun was just shining and it's just pouring down! Yeah, God!!! Gordon had the sprinkler on the garden while we were at church, so it's really been watered today! Pictures are of Gordon's sweet corn and my grapevine! Blessings!

I made this dip for today's demo and it was a HUGE hit!!! Here's the recipe: 1 cup of sour cream, 1 cup of mayo, 1 cup of cheddar cheese grated, 3 green onions chopped, 1 cup of diced and seeded tomatoes(I used a can of diced tomatoes, drained very well), and 6 slices of bacon, cooked and drained(I used Oscar Mayer bacon bits in a package as I have no way to fry bacon at work)! Chill for at least one hour before serving with crackers or chips! Blessings!

I was listening yesterday to a customer describe the new Doritos chips that she tried and thought I better buy a bag and try them myself, but being I'm watching what I eat, I figured I could bring them home to share with Gordon! Doritos has quite a few new to me favors of Doritos, there is a cheeseburger chip, spciy/sweet chili chip, and buffalo spicy chip. I chose the sweet/spicy ones and I have to tell you they are great, a little addicting, but I am able to keep it under control(for now)!!!Blessings!

I made blueberry muffins yesterday for breakfast among the hurriedness of getting ready for work, but they were worth it! I got blueberries from the Farmers Market last week and needed to use them up before they go bad! The berries are from Michigan and we picked berries there many years ago, it was so much fun! They have blueberry trees, not the little plants we have here that are wild! There is a group who are purist in picking and using only wild berries, but I think the berries from Michigan are just great! Big and juicy! Blessings!

I didn't make the lasagna yet! Too hot!!! Besides the meat I got out went to make Italian hamburgers, YUM!!!!!
I wish I had some 4Th of July picture to show you, but sadly I don't! I would like to say at this time that I believe we owe ourselves and our families a little lesson on the 4Th July and what it should mean to all of us! Liberty came at a price for all the signers of the Declaration! Some lost family, fortunes and some ran for their lives for many years! Would we be willing to do the same??? Sometimes I think, yes, sometimes, I get scared and say no! We need God back in lives and in our country, please pray for our nation! Revival is coming! Blessings!

I know it's kinda warm and maybe not the best time to make lasagna, but I was watching a new TLC show and it got me thinking,"Did I really have the best lasagna recipe on the planet"????? The show is so funny, called "inedible to incredible", watch it sometime! The lasagna has a meat sauce called a bolognese sauce and a white sauce, not too much cheese as mine has, so I'm willing to try it and compare! Have a great day! Blessings!
