Tuesday became my Monday as I took yesterday off for a vacation day to clean a bedroom! So, that never happened at all! I'm so bummed!! We have had vehicle issues for 3 weeks and I won't bore you with the issues, needless to say, it affected what I did yesterday! I did however have lunch with longtime friend and that was so fun as we have been saying we need to have lunch while she is off during the summer(teacher's aide), but summer comes and goes never to have lunch or make the time! Needless to say that was the highlight of my day! I have been reading a few books on my Kindle, "Pearl in the Sand" is about Rahab. Most of what I know about Rahab is she was a prostitute, but saved the spies from being caught in Jericho (Old Testament). It was so good and I highly recommend it! The other book was a fluke for me, paid $.99 for it and well worth the money, "Every bush is burning". It's about a man who is caught cheating on his wife, lying about life to himself, sister is having issues and how God is working on him. Ver good! I'm trying to do a meal planner(pray for me) for a week at a time. I really do want to get organized, but at what cost????? I'm tired of being wasteful and/or spinning my wheels for meals all the time. This hard for me to say people!!! I am tired of cooking for the 2 of us, it's been no fun and I'm in a rut BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So wish me luck, I keep pinning organizing things on Pinterest! Blessings! Rhonda, I know you are laughing so much from this confession!!LOL!

We went to visit our kids in the cities on Saturday as the twins had a birthday 2 weeks ago and we needed to celebrate! We love getting together and having a party!! We are party people! Our son, Kurt grilled some hotdogs and brats, we took fruit salad, Kate's Mom Bev, brought over some very delicious potato salad and beans,Mary(Kate's sister) brought the sodas, and Erika brought some really tasty guacamole dip(in the box and refrigerated section of your grocery store, the BEST) and Patty(Kate's other sister) served cake! Kate and Kurt do a great job hosting the whole thing! So here's a few pics of the party, enjoy! Blessings!!

Of course, since I've been MIA again for more than a week, I offer my apology!!! But I have been busy more cleaning, fighting allergy stuff, visiting my friend Diane's garden, dropping in on another friend Lori and working!!! Man, that working gets in my way of fun, just kidding Ted!!!! I did manage to find a new blog(well, actually 3 new ones) and she has some really great recipes for me to try out on Gordon! Tonight I made her fabulous ranch dressing, but of course, I had to tweak it for me! Recipe is for me: 1 1/4 cups of buttermilk, 1 cup of sour cream, 3/4 cup of mayo, 3 tablespoons of dill(I used dried), 1/4 cup of the green tops of green onions since my chives has died from the heat!! poor thing!, 3 tablespoons of fresh oregano(which you can't kill), 2 tablespoon of granulated garlic since I had it on hand and not fresh, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of seasoned pepper. I mixed this all together and tasted it, YUM!!!!!! Thanks to foodiewithfamily.com for the nudge to make this and enjoy it! Check out her website, I think you will enjoy it! You can also follow her on Pinterst. Blessings!

I have had a burden for friends of ours, he has cancer and very bad. o doing what I love to do and being nudged by God,I made them some meals! We went there with lasagna and bars on Sunday! I'm making a chicken hotdish for them for tomorrow's meal! I;m baking the pound cake that we love so well! Please pray for them as the end draws close for him! Blessings!

With today being Sunday, Gordon and I usually go to church, but the we have missed the last 4 weeks because I need a day of rest! That doesn't mean we don't worship the Lord, not at all, we worship Him all day and read the word, pray and have time together! It keeps me sane after working and helping people all day at the grocery store, I am peopled out!!! This happens to me every few years and I have finally learned to take a few weeks off from church or whatever day I can get off from life and rest in Him! So rest in the Lord today, smell the coffee, make an effort to read the Word, sing a few praise songs and take a nap! Blessings!

Well, todays post is on my cleaning efforts and throwing stuff away! I need to size down for me! So, I emptied the cedar chest of what it held(mattress pad) and put a vinyl tablecloth on the bottom as not to nick the cedar lining. Then I put the grandkids toys in it as they are older and won't slam the lid down on fingers(I hope). It cleans up the corner they were in! I emptied 2 of Gordon's very old suitcases and put coloring books in one. In the other is filled with beads, paints and brushes for craft projects! So, I managed to get a few areas cleaned and tossed out old broken toys! My next project is spot cleaning the carpet in the old living where I recently moved the computer desk and computer with Gordon's help! It fits in there nicely! Well, back to spot cleaning, recipe for that is hydrogen perioxide, 1/2 baking soda and a little water in a spray bottle, but I would put this in a squirt bottle, doesn't spray so great! So, far the spots are disappearing! Blessings!

Sorry, that I have been MIA for the last weeks, but work and grandkids have kept me busy! This past week is one of the busiest weeks for the grocery world and I'm tired!! I was on pinterest the other day and came across a recipe I thought I would make since we were going to have our daughter and son-in-law over to play with the grandgirls! We cookout, ate, played a game, played outside and sat around to visit. It was fun, so dessert time came and I was disappointed in the dessert. It tastes good, but looks terrible! I don't think I will make it again the way it was put on pinterest. Here it is: 1-one step angel food cake mix and lemon pie filling. Well, when I went to purchase the pie filling it was gone from the shelf, so everyone else must of seen the recipe online. So, you preheat the oven to 350, mix the cake and pie filling together, pour into 9x13 ungreased pan, bake for 20-30 minutes. I used peach pie filling as someone had wrote they used cherry pie filling or blueberry filling. I think I will try another kind of cake mix next time. Blessings!
