rustic soup

I saw a recipe in the food network mag. So, I made it somewhat to the recipe, but not so close that I can't call it my own! Rustic Soup: 1 can of cannelinni beans- drained, 3 large carrots cut up, 1 red pepper-chopped, 2 stalks of celery chopped, 4 ounces of bacon cut up and not cooked, 5 cups of water. I put all of this in the crock pot and walked away(cooking 7 hours) to work for the day. The house smelled so great when I opened the door, yum! Blessings! P.S.I did add a slice of rustic bread to the bottom of the soup bowl to add something to the soup, great tasting!

another birthday!

Well, today is my birthday! I spent the day doing the following: morning coffee with my sweetheart, brunch with my girlfriends and daughter, walked around Spooner with Erika(my daughter), came home to 2 phones from my sisters, went to the show(saw "Unknown" with Liam Niesom), dinner on the way home with Gordon(my sweetheart)! What a great day! I made cupcake cheesecakes for dessert, but we are too full! Blessings!

Eagle

I don't have a recipe for tonight to share, but I do have a picture! It's taken from the trail cam that we have in a tree behind our home. I hope it's makes you know there is a God and the beauty of Him!

lamb chops

I got a deal at work last week on lamb chops. Someone had ordered them and didn't take them, so I got them! I put them on my George Foreman grill and they were so good! I like a little mint jelly with my lamb, but Gordon eats them just naked! I made some carrots to go as a side! Blessings1

Blackberry/ Blueberry cobbler

For this very special day I brought home 2 boxes of blackberries and 1 box of blueberries! I thought, "I will make a cobbler" and I cheated with using the Bisquick mix for the cobbler part of the dessert! My sweetheart bought me a bottle of Asti for Valentine's Day and it has chilled all day! So dessert is ready whenever we can get unfull from supper! Blessings! LOL!!!!

Sorrry

Sorry I haven't done anything on the blog for a week! I don't even have a good excuse, so there you have it! I can tell you I am hooked on Angie's Kettle corn for a snack at night! Gordon and I manage to go through a bag in 3 days easily! It's made in Mankato, Mn. It's really delicious! It's so addictive in the realm of popcorn in a bag!!!

game day

We are not going anywhere for the super bowl, so that also means I'm not making party food! But don't worry I have a recipe for those of you who are last minute party maker people! Spicy Chipotle dip: 1 - 8 oz cream cheese softened, 1/4c. chipotle sauce(from canned adobo sauce, just the sauce, not the peppers), 2 Tablespoons of lime juice. Using a handmixer, blend well and chill! It's spicy, but not too much! Blessings!

Flourless Chocolate cookies

Yum! I saw these made on Martha Stewart show the other day! They are gluten free and delicious! Here's the recipe: 3 cups of powdered sugar, 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 5 ounces of chocolate, chopped, 1 1/2 cups of chopped pecans, 4 large egg whites. Preheat oven to 325, mix the sugar, cocoa, nuts, and chopped chocolate, then add the egg whites, mix throughly! Using an ice cream scoop, these will make 12 cookies. I did spray the pans so they don't stick! Bake for 25 minutes and enjoy! Blessings!

I'm back!
