Yesterday was my 64th birthday, I'm pretty excited to be able to sing the Beatles song, "When I'm 64." But just when I think things are going good, the "hub" forgets my birthday entirely. NO card, extra kiss, gift and extra hug. Man, where did I go wrong!??? So on this blog I feel safe to say, I'm really bummed out! He usually doesn't forget the whole thing, maybe a card , but this just hurts!! My kids and friends do better at making me feel wonderful for my birthday. It makes me wonder what is he thinking?? I don't want to read too much into this, but it makes one think! I told him this hurts my feelings, but sorry just doesn't cut it! Any suggestions?? Pray for me! I'm very sad! Blessings!

odds and ends
Okay, so one of my favorite sites these days to visit is www.onehundreddollarsamonth.com. The site belongs to Mavis Butterfield, she's a major gardener and gives you lots of tips to spend less money, beyond gardening help. Today's page talked about going to a new grocery store, which is a favorite thing for me to visit. I love going to a grocery store beyond the one I work at: love seeing the produce, how they have set up the aisles, love seeing the fresh meats or seafood, bulk food items and etc. Mavis gives you food for thought too.
Another favorite website is www.smittenkitchen.com. Deb Perlman is the author of that one. So, today she made caramel corn using miso, I have no clue what miso is or what it tastes like, so in that regards I'm a picky eater. If I buy the miso and don't like the taste , what do I do with the rest, throw it out, I think not! Have any of you tasted miso, will you describe it for me??? I did google miso, but still leery of buying it!
The Lord blessed me yesterday and today. Some of you see me daily or weekly, and know how bent over I have been for the past year. I have been gifted standing up straight for 2 days, woohoo!!!! Thank you Jesus!! This is beyond what I thought could happen! Blessings

Monday is coming
Tomorrow is the start of the work week, I'm all in and excited!!! There was this preacher back in the day that talked about being excited in what is ahead for us and to have the same feeling as we do when the weekend is approaching! That Sunday is coming and to get excited about church and what the Lord has in store for us!
I got my kale salad made in the fridge for my lunch tomorrow and breakfast is almost prepped! I'm excited to start the next work week, this is not always the feeling I have, so this is definitely of the Lord!
My friend Chris over at www.shesallthatsister.com has a wonderful kale salad recipe, so please check that out! Her website is fantabulous! The photos they take and the traveling they do is so much fun to read about, so please check her website out!
What are your plans for the new week?? Are you dreading the week or excited?? Is your cup half full or half empty?? Things have not changed for me at work. but my attitude has and that's all that matters to me! I have 1 year left to work full time, then I hope to go to 4 days maybe 3. See what the Lord says! Blessings!

Prayer time
A couple of weeks ago I posted about prayer and the importance of it! To take daily time whether it's 5 minutes or 20. minutes, prayer will add protection to your life. Protection from who? One guess, the enemy of Christ! Ephesians 6:11 says "Put on all of the God's armor so that you will able to stand firm against all the strategies of the devil." Did you get that?? We have protection for that enemy of all mankind that has been hanging around too much and bullying too many of our families for far too long! When I posted that, man, I got hammered by him, but " Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world." My God wins and prayer works! Those of you who are joining me, how is it going for you? Memory verses are important, have you chosen some to memorize?? I working on a few, praying them every day and believing the power that is the verses. I did a memory verse a week a couple of years ago and I had someone at church who kept me accountable. I chose verses with the word hope in it, because Jesus is our living hope ! This year, my word is joy, so guess what I'm reading joy verses!! Get busy and start your prayer time! Blessings!!

Mom
Today is a sad and reflective day for me. 28 yrs. ago my mom, my friend, my counselor, my sounding box died. She had a massive heart attack and it took 2 months for her to go home! I remember that I begged and pleaded with God to heal her, so she could stay a little longer with us, but He took her. I was pretty mad at God for a while, about 3 yrs. But as I reflect back. I see His hand all the way to that phone call that she had passed. I one time spoke to a ladies group about the pain and the joy, but I don't truly think that people understand the pain some people have at the time of death. The shock and the joy that the loved one is home with Jesus without pain is bittersweet. Death is painful for us the living, but joy on the other side! So saying all that, today is Mom's going home anniversary and I'm glad that Jesus is my Savior, so I have the hope of seeing her again someday! Blessings!

Any Resolutions???
Did you make any resolutions for the new year?? I made one, to pray more and spend more time with The Word. I had one person respond to my challenge in the last post, I'm so sorry you all aren't doing this challenge/resolution with me! Thanks, Chris!!! Love that girl, she is so lovely inside and out!!!
So, with my new planner, I set up each day with a love one of mine and their name on the top of that day. My daughter and I started praying for my son (her brother) and his family last year. My prayers got lazy and now I'm on a deeper roll with prayer time! Oh , I prayed for them , but it didn't have much substance to the prayers. I want to see Jesus working in my life, so He can shine the way for them! Lord, change me and how I respond!
I am again reading through the Bible! I usually get stuck somewhere in Deuteronomy with all the laws, but plug through. Old Testament is long, but I love 1 Kings and 2 Kings. Blessings!!

Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone! Thank you for reading my blog! I hope and pray all is well with your family!
Gordon and I just finished watching "War Room". What a fantastic movie! It shows what power we have in prayer and don't use prayer! I got the book Fervent by Priscilla Shirer which goes along with the movie. So, I have an idea for the new year and hope you will think about joining me. The movie and book talk about a strategy in prayer. So, let's just think about that for a moment. Strategy?? Yes! So, I'm calling upon a few ladies to join in with prayer time, praying for family, jobs, co-workers, finances, health, our government, our county, our pastors, etc.
First, write out your prayer, such as "help me at work with my co-workers, pray for their families, finances and health". Write out scripture that might go along with that, such as the Lord's prayer or 2 Chronicles 7:14, or John 3 :16. Writing down scripture helps you to remember it and breaks the power of the enemy! Just list the things you need to pray for and wait to see the power of prayer. It's amazing. I did this many years ago with a ladies group. I wrote them down and each week we added to the list or saw the hand of God move in a certain situation. God is calling me up again for war! The enemy has made some of my family compliance with their walk with God, so I think it's time! Come along for the ride and let's see the hand of God move! Just email me if your joining and once a week check in with me. Jan 1 is the kick off date! Get ready for battle and let God move! Blessings!!!
