Queen for the day

I was just reading the blog, simplehomemade.net where they are honoring women as queen for a day with a give away! I remember a TV show from the 60's called "Queen for a day". My mom wanted to go on that show and win something, probably just the acknowledgement of what she did day in and day out, teaching full time and raising a family! So, what would make you feel like "queen for a day"??? I'm not sure, but I know it would involve family and being together! Please drop me line and let me know your feelings on this! Blessings!

I got a couple of new cookbooks a few weeks back. So here is the first review of ne of them. It's "Make the bread, buy the butter" by Jennifer Reese. Her website is called: thetipsybaker.com. It's a very informative book and I would recommended it, though I'm still reading and haven't made a thing from it! Jennifer gives you the break down if you should buy the product or make it, some of it I would and some I wouldn't eventhough she recommends making it like peanut butter, it's just the two of us and doesn't pay to make it! But I'm pretty excited about the bagel recipe and the bread recip to try out this week! So stay tuned for the yeah or nay! Blessings!

Happy Easter

He is Risen! I'm so thankful to Christ for going to the cross for my sins! I'm so thankful to the Lord for rising from the dead to give each one of us eternal life! Church has been showing a film

series from the Church on the Hill. It is about the last 4 days of Christ's life, what he endured for me and you, his death from Mary's point of view, the thief that defended him on the cross and his point of view of hanging there with Christ, and resurrection morning! It has been a tremendous series and I will talk about it for some time! Please go to thechurchonthehill.org website to view this if you want, it costs about $1.99 to view it and will be worth it! Blessings and know that Christ has set you free!

Italian beef

I was hungry for something different for the weekend. Sirloin tips aren't on sale this week, but there was a small roast at the store, so I got it

and the rest as they say is history! I bought a packet of Italian beef seasoning and a jar of peppercini, put the roast in the crockpot, add the packet and jar of peppers, set the crockpot on low, there is supper! Done so fast it makes your head spin, ha!

sausage and biscuits

Gordon is not a big fan of biscuits and gravy, but I like it if it's good! If the biscuits aren't good or the gravy too thin, not way will I choke it down! So, this morning I fried up some sausage and made some bisquick biscuits! It turned out so well, I had a package of pepper gravy mix I added to the sausage, sliced up a orange for added something to our plate and viola', we have breakfast! Off to church we went with something on our stomachs! Blessings this Palm Sunday!
